Disease diagnostic centre for fishes opened at Madhavaram
Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Wednesday inaugurated disease diagnostic and observation centres for fishes situated in campuses associated with Tamil Nadu Fisheries University (TNFU) among several other facilities.

Palaniswami opened the centres at TNFU campus in Madhavaram constructed at a total of about Rs 2 crore, through video conferencing.
“The diagnostic centre in Madhavaram will identify the disease precisely and help in faster treatment. By controlling the spread of diseases at an early stage the marine stock can be improved,” said Palaniswami.
Similarly, a disease observation centre for fishes at Fisheries College and Research Institute (FCRI), Thoothukudi constructed at a cost of Rs 1.21 crore was also inaugurated.
He also opened the office of Deputy Registrar (Diaries) in Tiruvallur constructed at a cost of Rs 68 lakh, besides an advanced Aavin parlour costing Rs 53 lakh.
CM inaugurates roads, bridges: Palaniswami also inaugurated an enhanced road from Paruvakudi to Vembar via Kovilpatti, Ettayapuram and Vilathikulam spanning a total distance of 31.65 km, constructed at a cost of Rs 167 crore.
Other newly-laid roads that were inaugurated include Nanguneri- Barathar Uvari East Coast Road (35.20 km) in Tirunelveli district costing Rs 154.45 crore, and Cuddalore- Chitoor road (28.45 km) in Villupuram district laid at a cost of Rs 117.62 crore.
He also inaugurated a railway over-bridge constructed between Villupuram and Venkatesapuram railway stations at a cost of Rs 34.75 crore and a bridge constructed across Koraiyar river in Tiruchy-Dindigul road.
Cold storage, warehouses inaugurated: A cold storage facility with a total capacity of 50 metric tonnes, constructed at a cost of Rs 1 crore, at Hosur in Krishnagiri district, was also opened inaugurated.
A warehouse with 2,000 metric tonnes and an office building constructed at Thiruvadanai in Ramanathapuram district, constructed at the cost of Rs 1.75 crore, was also inaugurated.

New school buildings, classrooms opened across Tamil Nadu
Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami also opened several infrastructure facilities including new classrooms and school buildings, constructed in various districts of the state at a cost of Rs 141.94 crore. A total of 33 new school buildings were constructed with the help of NABARD at Cuddalore, Coimbatore, Dharmapuri, Dindigul, Erode, Karur, Pudukkottai, Thanjavur, Tirupur, Tiruvallur, Tiruvannamalai, Villupuram and Virudhunagar districts. In addition, the Chief Minister also inaugurated four new classrooms, labs and a library at a government school in Erode district through video conferencing. As part of the integrated school education programme, Palaniswami also opened 57 new school buildings constructed at Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, Tirunelveli, Tiruchy, Nagapattinam, Madurai and Ramanathapuram at a cost of Rs 86.63 crore. Palaniswami also distributed appointment orders for persons, who were offered assistance posts,
in the school education department through Tamil Nadu Public Service
Commission (TNPSC).
