VCK chief supports DMK president over Rahul proposal
An ally of the DMK, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi chief Thirumavalavan said that his party fully supported MK Stalin’s proposal of projecting Congress president Rahul Gandhi as Prime Ministerial candidate.

Interacting with reporters in Vellore on Sunday, on the sidelines of the function got up to celebrate VIT chancellor G Viswanathan’s 80th birthday, he said there was noproblem with the opposition parties regarding Stalin’s statement as the move would soon be seconded by like-minded parties soon.
Referring to the Union government allowing internet providers to seek out individual information, he said this was a very bad move not only from the point of individual freedom, but would also be used by the ruling party to curb opposition parties.
On Prime Minster Narendra Modi not visiting theareas and people affected by Cyclone Gaja in Delta districts, he said it was surprising that that PM who had no time to come to Tamil Nadu to console the cyclone affected, had time to visit corporate get do’s and participate in weddings of film personalities.
Referring to state BJPpresident Tamilisai Soundararajan stating that the lotus would bloom in TN, he said it was her dream as it would never see reality.
Referring to Gutkharelated scandals, he said the state government should follow the instructions of the court in handling the issuecorrectly. Cases should be registered against those involved, he added.
Similarly, he said though various political parties had repeatedly petitioned the state government to close down TASMAC outlets and bars, the government was doing the opposite, he alleged. When women were agitating against new shops and demanding removal of existing shops it was surprising that the government was not heeding the people’s voice, he added.
