BJP district secy held for assault on GH doc
Police on Tuesday arrested District BJP President Pettai Siva for allegedly assaulting a doctor on duty at the Muthupettai Government Hospital.

Sources said medical teams were distributing tablets to residents of Pettai area in a precautionary measure aimed at controlling the outbreak of malaria. However, six persons, including four children, reportedly developed nausea and giddiness after consuming the tablet. They were rushed to the Muthupettai Government Hospital.
Local residents accompanied by Pettai Siva visited the hospital, where they alleged that the patients were not properly treated. They then assaulted a doctor who was on duty at that time.
Subsequently, the doctor identified as Aravind was admitted to the Tiruvarur Medical College Hospital. Based on his complaint, police nabbed R Murugesan (30), R Bala alias Prabakar (21) on Monday, while they arrested Pettai Siva on Tuesday.
