Marksheet fraud: Woman doc on the run

The police have launched a hunt for a woman, who completed her MBBS degree in the Vellore Government Medical College using a forged mark sheet.

Police said that Vaishnavai, daughter of Rajeswaran of Thendral Nagar in Tirunindravur in Chennai, completed her Class 12 in 2008 and applied for the MBBS course in the academic year 2008-09.

After the counseling process, she was allotted a seat in the Vellore Government Medical College. During a check, the Directorate of Medical Education found that Vaishnavi had forged her mark sheet and changed the Physics marks from 183 to 188 and the Chemistry marks to 190 from 160.

While Vaishnavi had completed the course in 2012-13, the directorate ordered that action be taken against her. However, she has not collected her degree certificate so far.

Following this, the Vellore Medical College Dean Usha Sadasivam lodged a complaint with Vellore taluk police and action was initiated to arrest Vaishnavi. Investigations are on and cops have launced a search for  Vaishnavi.
