Tamil Nadu research scholars to work with Norwegian counterparts

Professor N Rajendran, director of centre for International Affairs, Anna University said the objective of the research is to strengthen Indian-Norwegian research collaboration in bilaterally-funded research projects.

The research projects will be of relevance to one or more application areas such as renewable energy, environment and climate, improving health and promoting new medical technology, increased value creation and innovation based on natural resources of importance in both India and Norway.

They will also offer greater insight into the impacts of nanomaterials on human health and ecosystems.

The Department of Science and Technology (DST) and the Research Council of Norway will implement a joint decision-making procedure to determine the outcome of the projects and they will receive a high assessment score in both countries to be funded.

The selected projects will receive funding from the DST and the Research Council of Norway.

The final decision on grant allocations will be taken in August.

The outcome will be published by the Research Council and DST.
