He told reporters in Chennai while commenting about the upcoming Lok Sabha polls and added Opposition leader MK Stalin’s dream to capture power through back door operation and dislodge the AIADMK government will not materialise until 2021.
“Even after the 2021 general assembly polls, it will be again the AIADMK government. Most of the DMK MLAs want us to complete five-year term and they are not ready to face the bypolls,” Jayakumar emphasised.
He added that Stalin with the dream of becoming the chief minister should think about facing the public and winning the votes. “The opposition DMK and the AMMK led by TTV Dhinakaran are raking up the Kodanad heist murder cases for political benefits in the upcoming polls,” he said.
When asked about auditor S Gurumurthy’s comment that the BJP should ally with the AIADMK to gain ground in Tamil Nadu, Jayakumar said that the comment seems to be a personal wish of Gurumurthy. But the alliance can be formed only if the AIADMK is interested.
DMK MLAs given contracts to save govt: Dhinakaran
In response to Jayakumar’s statement on the DMK, AMMK leader Dhinakaran said that the Minister has agreed that the DMK is part of the coterie that wants this AIADMK regime to continue. “It is a fact that the corrupt AIADMK government is awarding contracts to DMK MLAs to allow this government to continue,” Dhinakaran alleged.
