Speaking to reporters, Dhinakaran said, all the political parties are on the same footing in the state after the demise of leaders like M Karunanidhi and J Jayalalithaa. The actual strength of all the parties will be known only after the elections.

Commenting on AIADMK leader M Thambidurai’s tirade against the BJP, Dhinakaran said that it is just a drama and Thambidurai enacts it well. Actually, Thambidurai is frustrated that he could not become the Chief Minister after the demise of Jayalalithaa. Hence, he has been speaking against the BJP with an aim to put Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami in a fix, he alleged.

“Thambidurai has been speaking against the BJP only within Tamil Nadu, but in New Delhi he is maintaining a good rapport with the Prime Minister and the Union Ministers,” Dhinakaran claimed.

Criticising national parties that they do not have the track record of protecting the interests of Tamil Nadu, Dhinakaran said that the national parties do not have any base in the state and so the political parties are in a hesitation to have an alliance.

Meanwhile, AMMK is in coalition talk with a few political parties in the state but definitely the party will not have any alliance with the national parties. He reiterated the allegation that the DMK may form an alliance with the BJP if situation arise.

In the meantime, Dhinakaran wanted a fair probe into the Kodanad incident under the supervision of a senior High Court judge. “Once, the fair probe has been made, the truth will come out,” he stressed.
