“Stalin, who proposed the name of Rahul Gandhi in Chennai as Prime Ministerial candidate for the alliance did not take up Rahul’s name in Kolkata. That is the situation of their alliance,” said Tamilsai at Chennai airport.

She also said that looking back at the history, the parties who had participated in the meeting had cases of corruption, scams and anti-national activities pending against them and the alliance will never take off.

On alliance formation, Tamilisai said, “BJP is in talks with parties other than DMK and Congress in the state and the alliance would be announced at the time of elections.”

She also said that the Union government is implementing various schemes for the welfare of poor but still the opposition parties claim that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working for the welfare of Corporates.

“The eight-lane between Chennai and Thoothukudi would reduce travel distance by 100 km. Similarly, inland waterways project would be implemented in the state along with new airports which would be setup in Vellore and Krishnangiri,” added Tamilisai.

She further said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is visiting Tamil Nadu, on February 27, will also make two more visits in February, once on February 10 and another on February 19, to participate in various programmes and to interact with the party cadre.
