The BDO has ordered that clean vegetables and dhal must be provided for the students. The issue came to light when the parents came to pick their children while the meals were being served in the noon meal centre in the AD colony in Thennampattu village in Vembakkam panchayat union.

They were shocked to see the contaminated food and immediately they picked up a quarrel with organizer K Panchalai and cook Muthammal. Later the parents took the issue to BDO KM Baranidharan. The latter demanded an explanation and since it was not satisfactory, they were issued memos with orders to ensure proper cleaning of vegetables and dhal meant for cooking.
