The RK Nagar legislator advised all the district secretaries and party functionaries not to wait for poll developments like alliance and party symbol to start the campaign.
Dhinakaran, who is now on a Kancheepuram district tour, told the party workers to campaign for the AMMK stating that the party does not have any alliance and will go alone as per the policies of late leader J Jayalalithaa. “This is a party that follows Amma’s (Jayalalithaa) way. The cadre should explain that AMMK will be a party for the public covering all walks of life. AMMK will be a farmer friendly party and will work on the enforcement of prohibition. Assure the people that this will be a party, fighting for the rights of minorities, women and farmers following the principles laid down by Amma. “Reach out to traders and fishermen. Explain that AMMK is their party,” Dhinakaran emphasised while addressing party workers.
Addressing the reporters, Dhinakaran said that the party has begun the poll works and exuded confidence that it will bag all the vacant Assembly seats in the state. Fearing the rise of the AMMK, the AIADMK and the DMK postponed the Tiruvarur bypoll, he claimed. We are waiting for the elections and we are not worried about the poll surveys. Our party will reach out to the public seeking votes, Dhinakaran said.
“We are confident of getting the pressure cooker symbol, but we have been advised go ahead with the campaign trail even as the petition in this regard is pending before the Supreme Court. In case of vacant seats, the disqualified MLAs have already started their poll work. Our party leader TTV Dhinakaran will visit all these constituencies at least twice seeking votes,” a senior AMMK functionary told DT Next.
AMMK has now prepared a detailed district wise tour for our top brass till February. The detailed tour programme for party deputy general secretary is also getting ready and this will focus on the Lok Sabha and the 20 vacant Assembly seats, the AMMK functionary added.
