BJP general secretary Muralidhar Rao on Sunday said that the party is open for an alliance. Addressing reporters at Chennai airport, after returning from Madurai, Rao said, “Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi had already informed that the BJP is open for alliance.

Almost all the parties in the state, including DMK and AIADMK were in alliance with the BJP in the past and so forming alliance and shifting of alliance is common.”
Rao said that there was an overwhelming response to the campaign of Modi. “Narendra Modi had started his campaign from the land of Meenakshi Amman,” he said.
When asked about BJP’s alliance with the AIADMK, he replied that the alliance will be announced in a proper time. “I never said that BJP alone can form government in Tamil Nadu and alliance will be formed. Announcement on alliance will be made in about 40 days,” said Rao.
