Transfer Pondy CEO, appeals AIADMK leader

In a letter to the CEC, AIADMK legislature party leader A Anbazhagan pointed out that Candavelou is a native here and has been working here since June 2014. The orders of the EC on the transfer of an officer holding a particular post for over three years should be binding on him also.

Anbazhagan said the close relatives of Candavelou were businessmen and some of them have political attachments. He is not impartial in his duties and is considered very close to Lt Governor Kiran Bedi and has been taking orders from her, he alleged. Hence, election cannot be conducted without bias and favouritism under his leadership, he said. “Hence, he must be shifted to ensure free and fair poll here in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.”
