Leaders remember Anna on his 50th death anniversary
The ruling AIADMK and opposition DMK leaders paid rich homage to former chief minister CN Annadurai on his 50th death anniversary on Sunday.

Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, along with state Ministers, paid homage at Anna memorial on Marina. The DMK leaders were led by party president MK Stalin in paying homage.
Senior leaders of AIADMK, KP Munusamy, E Madhusoodhanan, C Ponnaiyan, Ministers, Jayakumar, Dindigul Sreenivasan and others too joined in paying their respects.
Community feast were held across the temples in the state. According to the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) department, such feasts were offered in 33 temples in Chennai city alone.
In all the temples, Ministers, MLAs and senior party leaders participated with the public. AIADMK is consecutively organising community feast programme in temples on every death anniversary of Annadurai to fulfil his dream that no person goes hungry.
The Chief Minister participated in the feast at Sakthi Vinayar Temple in KK Nagar. Similarly, Panneerselvam joined the programme held at Marundeeswarar Temple in Tiruvanmiyur.
Meanwhile in Puducherry, both the AIADMK and DMK members took out separate silent rallies to mark the occasion.
On government behalf, PWD Minister A Namassivayam led the Union Territory in paying homage to founder of DMK Annadurai. The PWD Minister was accompanied by Welfare Minister M Kandasamy and legislators of the ruling Congress as they paid tributes at the statue of Annadurai, fondly called Anna, at Orleanpet. Secretary of the Puducherry unit of the AIADMK P Purushothaman along with legislators A Anbalagan, A Baskar and Vayyapuri Manikandan led a silent rally of the party workers from the party headquarters to the statue.
Workers and delegates of different wings of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) led by the convenors of the party R Siva MLA and former Education Minister S P Sivakumar also took out a silent procession and garlanded the statue.
