Withdraw disciplinary proceedings: JACTTO-GEO

JACTTO-GEO office bearers on Monday demanded the state government to withdraw actions against the government employees and government teachers who protested against the state government.

Moses, one of the Coordinators of JACTTO-GEO, said, “State government should withdraw the cases filed against JACTTO-GEO members, to withdraw disciplinary action against government employees and teachers and not to detect salary for the government employees and teachers who protested.”


Recently, JACTTO-GEO members staged protest with host of demands such as implementing family pension scheme, to provide arrears for 21 months when seventh pay commission was implemented, to give salary for graduate teachers on par with central government teachers and so on.


The protest commenced on January 22 and went on till January 30. During the course of protest,teachers and government officials attached to various departments abstained from work and regular workwas affected.


In the meantime, as school students had to face their board exams there were demand from various quarters to the JACTTO-GEO members to end their protests. Government too issued warnings that strict action would be taken on the government officials and teachers if they continue to protest.


Taking all those into consideration the JACTTO-GEO members withdrew their strike but however the state government took action on the government officials and teachers who participated in the protest.


The office bearers of JACTTO-GEO demanded the government to withdraw all the action against their members. “Close to 3,500 members were issued transfer orders but they were not allotted any work. Similarly, police cases were filed against close to 2,000 members and were suspended. More than 5,000 members who protested were not allotted work and so they should be given work immediately”, demanded Moses.
