Thambidurai’s attack won’t hit alliance talks: BJP
The BJP is in talks with parties in the state for an alliance and dismissed Deputy Speaker Thambidurai’s out lash against the Centre to be his own statement and not that of the AIADMK, said BJP general secretary Muralidhar Rao in Coimbatore on Tuesday.

Continuing his tirade against the national party, Thambidurai criticised in Lok Sabha on Monday that the schemes implemented by the BJP government were a big failure.
“The support for Prime Minister is growing in Tamil Nadu. So, I did not wish to comment on an individual’s speech. Even the AIADMK has not issued any statement regarding his speech,” he said in reply to a query if Thambidurai’s attack would scuttle the chances of an alliance between the BJP and the AIADMK.
Pointing out that the announcement of an alliance will be made soon, the BJP leader said, our alliance will aim to provide good governance and positive development to the state.
He was in Coimbatore to chair a meeting with representatives of textile industry and entrepreneurs to know their issues as part of Bharat “Mann ki Bath, Modi Ke Saath” programme to prepare the party’s vision document for Lok Sabha polls.
“Textiles are an important cluster, after agriculture in Coimbatore, Tirupur and Karur districts. This sector offers maximum employment to people. To further boost their growth and improve farming, the BJP has been holding public outreach campaigns ahead of the elections and intends to meet 10 crore people from Kashmir to Kanniyakumari and Arunachal Pradesh to Gujarat,” he said.
Rao also said that leaders, including Amit Shah and cabinet ministers are visiting the state to participate in the campaign. BJP state vice presidents Vanathi Srinivasan and CP Radhakrishnan were among the others present in the meeting.
