BJP cadre on girivalam yatra, prays for Modi’s return as PM

A 48-year-old BJP functionary is ‘faithfully’ circumambulating the 14 km-long Girivalam in a bid to ensure that Prime Minister Narendra Modi returns to power after the upcoming Parliamentary polls.

Boopalan, from Guruvarajapet near Arakkonam in neighbouring Vellore district, has undertaken the task for 31 days. Having started on February 4, he plans to do the same till March 6. He goes around the path every day carrying a flex banner, which cites the reason for his daily effort.


He stays at an ashram near Chandra Lingam in the town. Boopalan, who hopes to see Modi return as PM, wants all the rivers in southern India to be interlinked and Rs 20,000 be provided to all farmers.
