HC informed about filling vacancies in departments
The Madras high court has been informed that TNPSC, Medical Recruitment Board and Teachers Recruitment have notified as many as 734 backlog vacancies to be filled up in various departments, for which necessary sponsorship of candidates are being made by the District Employment Exchanges.

A division bench comprising Justice S Manikumar and Justice Subramonimum Prasad before whom a related case came up was told that a circular dated February 04, 2019 has been issued by the Commissioner of Employment and Training, Gunidy, to all the District Employment Exchanges to furnish the list of Schedule Caste/Schedule Tribe candidates within a week’s time, on receipt of request from the concerned departments, so as to enable them to fill up backlog vacancies for SC/STs.
The bench also recorded the submission that T Vijayakumar, Joint Director (Employment), Commissionerate of Employment and Training, has been entrusted with the work of filling up the vacancies. The case has been posted for further hearing to February 25.
