IPS officer takes CM, OPS to court
In a big twist to the sexual harassment case filed by a woman IPS officer against Director of Vigilance and Anti-corruption (DVAC), joint director S Murugan, the victim has moved another plea at the Madras High Court accusing both the CM Edappadi K Palaniswami and Deputy CM O Panneerselvam of protecting the accused.

The plea also sought for a court monitored investigation by appointing an officer not under the control of the State Government to investigate the FIR on the file of CB-CID.
She had submitted in her plea that the law officers representing the State and Sri Lakshmi Prasad, DGP, presiding officer, Internal Complaints Committee are shielding the accused. Noting that police who are in charge of investigation are helpless and the accused is yet to be arrested leave along being transferred out of DVAC, the victim said both the CM and Deputy CM who are facing serious allegations of corruption are interested in retaining Murugan as joint director of DVAC to safeguard their interest.
The plea also sought the court to direct the Secretary, home, Vigilance Commissioner and DGP to remove Murugan from the post of Joint Director, DVAC pending investigation.
