Wife’s murder: Man awarded life term by Tiruvallur court
The Tiruvallur court on Thursday awarded a life sentence to a 50-year-old man for killing his wife in 2017. The murder convict Natarajan lived with his wife Shanti and their child Satish in Kadambattur.

Natarajan was daily wager while Shanti ran a small tiffin centre by the roadside during the evenings. An alcoholic Natarajan had frequent quarrels with his wife. On one such quarrel for money, Natarajan forced Shanti to give money but when she refused to party with the money, Natarajan stabbed her. “Satish rushed her to a private hospital but could not save the woman. The Kadambathur police arrested Natarajan on August 10, 2017,” government advocate Ram Kumar said. Following trial, the Tiruvallur court convicted Natarajan in the case. Judge Selvanathan convicted Natrajan to life sentence and the fined Rs 5,000.
