Centre of excellence for fintech inaugurated
The State government on Friday said a new centre of excellence of fintech has been set up here at a cost of Rs 23 crore.

The centre, aimed at enhancing skill development and encouraging competition in the financial sector, was unveiled by Chief Minister K Palaniswami at a function held in the Secretariat recently, a press release said.
Following an announcement made in the Assembly last June, the centre was established with financial assistance from Software Technology Parks of India, Central and State governments and also through venture capital fund from city-based firm Pontaq
A memorandum of understanding was signed between Intellect Design Arena Ltd, Torus Innovations Ltd, Royal Bank of Scotland, Yes Bank, PayPal, TIE, Pontaq and Software Technology Park of India to set up the centre in the presence of Palaniswami recently.
Vellore gets Gold Web Ratna award from Central govt
Vellore district administration has been awarded the ‘Gold Web Ratna’ award constituted by the Central government. The award was given at the ‘Digital India Awards 2018’ held at New Delhi on February 22. Vellore Collector S A Raman showed the award to Palaniswami and received his appreciation.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated office buildings and warehouses of the Department of Cooperation, constructed at a cost of Rs 34.77 crore.
