Amid of political tug of war to rope in DMDK into alliance, the party chief is holding a meeting with his party functionary on Tuesday at his party headquarters to seek the opinion of the party members regarding forging alliance for upcoming Lok Sabha election.
Earlier, Union Minister of State for Finance and Shipping Pon Radhakrishnan exuded confidence that the DMDK, which is yet to confirm alliance, would certainly align with the BJP-led combine ahead of the polls to Lok Sabha constituencies.
AIADMK Coordinator O Panneerselvam held several rounds of discussion with the actor-turned politician to finalise eluding alliance with DMDK.
Panneerselvam tried his best to convince the family members and also assured them that AIADMK will extend favours to them, but they did not budge as Vijayakant and Premalatha, DMDK Treasurer, stood their ground in their demand of seven seats, which they were seeking from day one of alliance talks.
