The board would implement a computer-based recruitment management system, which would enable it to move the entire process from registration to appointment to online. Though the MRB is a newly-established body, many important processes in each stage of the recruitment operations are still done manually.
A senior MRB official told DT Next that the overall objective of the recruitment process management system is to improve operational efficiency, error free and fool proof recruitment process, to provide better monitoring tools for recruitment, and to improve service delivery.
He said that this move would automate these processes and set high standards in critical measures of performance like accuracy, zero defect and downtime. “The automated, user-friendly recruitment process management system with necessary web interface comprises of three major activities: taking control of pre-exam activities, coming out with new OMR sheets for candidates and publishing results,” he added.
Stating that the new system will also implement computer based objective type system in the recruitment process, the official said the management system will also help in the certificate verification process and sending email and SMS to the candidates for counselling using custom software.
“In addition, the system will help in extraction of information for replying to RTI or directions of the court with regard to the recruitment,” the official pointed out.
As a part of the new recruitment process, arrangement would be made to record the proceedings of the examination using high resolution CCTV camera at all examination centres.
According to the official, the Board has scheduled examinations shortly in Chennai where about 190 candidates would appear for the test under the new management system. “All the recruitment process from notification, registration to results, will be over in a month through the management system,” he added.
