Speaking to reporters, Sellur Raju said that the DMK is not eligible to criticise the AIADMK on alliance as they have joined hands with the Congress which had been acting against the interests of Tamil people. “The ultimate objective of the DMK is to get plum posts and earn money and nothing more than that as they had done when they were part of the UPA government for over 10 years,” Sellur K Raju said.
He said that the talks are still on with the DMDK and there is time as the election date is yet to be announced. “Since the absence of ‘Amma,’ the party found that facing the election with alliance has become inevitable and it was made only after the discussion with the party members,” he said.
Commenting on the distribution of Rs 2,000 under special poverty alleviation scheme to the people from Below Poverty Line, Sellur Raju said that it was planned by the Chief Minister himself under humanitarian grounds. “Even the Ministers were not aware of the programme, but the Chief Minister with a concern for the poverty stricken people had introduced the scheme,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Minister claimed that the people across the state have been extending their support to the government for its people-friendly policies and for the developmental programmes. “Due to the good name earned by the AIADMK government, DMK president MK Stalin has lost his sleep and has been touring across the rural parts of the state to malign the name, but he will certainly fail on this,” he added.
