AMMK starts poll work, gives cash for booth panels

With no alliances formed, party leader TTV Dhinakaran completed its first phase of campaigning. While he was touring TN, the second in commands have started micro-level poll works, sources said.

“Dhinakaran has asked the functionaries not to think about the candidates’ list, alliances and poll manifesto and let the top brass decide that. He has given a plan of action for every parliamentary constituency and Assembly seat. Regular meetings are being held in this regard,” a senior functionary told DT Next. Poll managers have started their math with voters’ roll and the campaign schedule is being worked out.

Dhinakaran handpicked candidates for each constituency and bypolls after discussing with party general secretary V K Sasikala, a source said, adding that candidate’s list will be released by the weekend.

Senior functionary P Vettrivel said Dhinakaran had instructed them to not wait for the candidate’s list. “The booth works have started and workers are spending money from their own pockets. Booth committees have been formed to campaign at the micro level,” he said.
