DMK Assembly bypoll candidate walks to astrologer before heading to returning officer

According to sources, Neelamegam reportedly performed a pooja and came to the RDO’s office in a haste around 2.30 pm to file his nomination. “He filed his papers on Friday after his favourite astrologer predicted good fortune if he did so,” a supporter claimed. 

While no other DMK candidate filed their nomination on Friday, Neelamegam’s act reportedly created ripples among the DMK cadre. He had not even informed about his intention to his party’s functionaries. In his affidavit, Neelamegam said he did not own any movable properties and has Rs 56,691 in his bank accounts. His immovable assets were valued at Rs 90 lakh. He also has a case pending against him.
