No meetings in residential areas: DGP
Following the orders by the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court to not grant permission for public meetings near residential areas, DGP T K Rajendran on Saturday issued a circular to all Commissioners and SPs to implement the direction.

On Friday, a division bench suo motu impleaded the Home Secretary and DGP in the case, and observed that people’s life was affected and their free movement crippled. With the poll campaigns in full swing, political parties will face the heat for holding meetings that would affect free movement and peaceful living of people.
