Campaigning for Salem Parliamentary Lok Sabha Constituency candidate SR Parthiban, Stalin said, “The Chief Minister has so far neither refused nor clarified on the Kodanad issue, which has strengthened our suspicions. The serial murders were orchestrated to hide evidences of corruption by Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and other ministers documented and preserved by Jayalalithaa in Kodanad estate. Once the DMK comes to power, our first task is to bring out the truth and send them all to jail. A CBI investigation will be ordered,” Stalin said at a public meet in Kottai Maidan in Salem district on Friday.
Listing out various corruption charges faced by ministers of ruling AIADMK, Stalin said, “Corruption has become all pervasive in AIADMK. If we approach DGP to file a case against a DVAC official, he himself is investigated by the CBI in gutkha scam. If we go to Chief Minister, he too is facing corruption in awarding contracts. And the Prime Minister is also facing the heat in Rafale scam. So the DMK is coming to people seeking their mandate in polls to punish the AIADMK,” he said.
Pointing out that people are seething in anger and are waiting to throwaway the BJP at the Centre and AIADMK in the state, Stalin assured the electorate that the Salem-Chennai Green Corridor project will be scrapped, if the DMK is voted to power.
Attacking PMK leader Ramadoss by calling him a priest, who rings bell for Edappadi K Palaniswami, Stalin said that the DMK’s alliance was formed on principles, unlike the opposition parties. He also mocked the double standards of AIADMK in announcing the scrapping of NEET, even while conducting coaching classes for students.
The DMK leader also addressed a public meet in Dharmapuri campaigning for the party’s candidate S Senthil Kumar in the constituency. He then said that the AIADMK government would be unseated once pollsare over.
Restrain DMK prez fromtalking of Kodanad: AIADMK
The ruling AIADMK on Friday petitioned the Chief Electoral Officer against DMK leader MK Stalin’s speech in Salem. In a petition, AIADMK advocate RM Babu Murugavel stated that the leader of the opposition was levelling allegations against Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami in all the public meetings and poll rallies. wThe petition requested the EC to take note of unverified speeches by the DMK leader aimed to defame Palaniswami and initiate directions to restrain Stalin from making defamatory statements, which is in violation of the model code of conduct.
