170 sovereign gold jewels stolen in Madurai

One Shankar from Chinna Chokkikulam, was robbed off 170 sovereigns of gold from his residence in Madurai.

Shankar went on a vacation with family on March 27, when he received call from his neighbour, Palani that his house was broke open.

As per reports, when the police reached the scene of crime, they found that the house was broke open using welding machine and chilli powder was found sprinkled around to avoid tracking by sniffer dogs.

Sources said, Shankar has complained the local police claiming that 170 sovereigns of gold jewellery that was in the locker was stolen by some unidentified persons. The police are investigating the case and analysing the CCTV footages.
