367 attend Phase 1 of NEET PG counselling
As many as 367 aspirants appeared for the first round of NEET PG counselling for admission in post graduate medical and dental courses in Tamil Nadu, which commenced here on Monday.

While 492 candidates were called for the first round, only 367 aspirants attend it. A total of 9,649 students had applied for the counselling process out of over 11,000 candidates who qualified for PG NEET this year.
Only 290 seats were allotted on the first day of the counselling – 283 in government colleges and the rest in self-financed colleges.
On Monday, while 125 students remained absent, 72 aspirants were waitlisted and five opted out from the counselling. The seats for postgraduate degree and diploma courses in various government medical colleges throughout the state are being allotted in the first round of counselling.
The 50 per cent of all seats, which includes all-India quota seats, would be filled in the first round, and this would be followed by the state quota session. The counselling sessions will continue till April 4 at the Government Multi-Super Specialty Hospital in Omandurar. The Directorate of Medical Education has uploaded the details regarding the counselling schedule on www.tnmedicalselection.net and www.tnhealth.org.
