He further hinted there was no miscommunication between the government and the university regard the counselling. However, sources from Higher Education Department told DT Next that the government was planning to conduct counselling without help from Anna University.
Earlier, Surappa inaugurated a training programme on “URKUND: Plagiarism Detection Service” for the benefit of faculty members and research scholars of Anna University. About 450 participants, both faculty members and research scholars of Anna University and affiliated Colleges, attended the programme.
During his inaugural address, Surappa stated that Anna University has always focused on quality research and these programmes were useful for the faculty and research scholars and must be organised regularly.
He said that by using URKUND, researchers can avoid duplication of research work that has been done previously. The training session included introduction to plagiarism and how to avoid it, introduction to URKUND, its usage of URKUND as a supervisor and usage of URKUND as aresearcher.
