Campaigning for DMK’s North Chennai LS and Perambur Assembly candidates at Burma Nagar, he said the Congress’ promises will be fulfilled after Gandhi becomes the PM. Reiterating that DMK would be a major player in the polls, he said, “Congress manifesto released by Rahul Gandhi is superhero. Modi has become zero.”

Stating the Lok Sabha election would end a fascist rule in the country, Stalin said, “PM Narendra Modi and CM Edappadi K Palaniswami are both tumours and must be removed. It’s a good opportunity.” He urged the people to prevent the AIADMK from mortgaging the State by voting against them.

Earlier in the day, DMK treasurer Duraimurugan issued a statement accusing the central and state governments of trying to smear their image.

Claiming the Centre and the State have cast a surveillance net around them, he said, “Since they could not recover anything unlawful during the raid, they planned to plant something and project it as a fresh seizure and smear our image,” without uttering the word ‘cash’. “We have learnt the government has attempted to prevent Kathir Anand’s victory by engaging in such acts,” he alleged.
