Crude petrol bombs hurled at DMK man’s car, poll rivalry suspected
Miscreants hurled crude petrol bombs at the house of DMK worker Paramasivam at TP Chathiram on Friday morning. In this attack, the cadre’s car was damaged. Paramasivam suspects that workers of a party contesting against the DMK candidate could have executed the attack.

The police said that they were looking for the suspects, while Paramasivam alleged that it could be a handy work another party worker with whom he had fought on Thursday night, in connection with alleged money distribution during the election rally.
According to the police, Paramasivam had returned home after the election campaign of the Central Chennai candidate Dayanidhi Maran near Aminjikarai area. During the rally, a heated argument erupted between the SDPI cadres from the AMMK camp and the DMK party workers, which turned into a fist fight.
During the wee hours of Friday, when Paramasivam was at home, two masked men in a motorbike hurled petrol bombs (Molotov cocktail) on his car and fled the spot, police noted. The front portion of the car was damaged. Based on a complaint from Paramasivam, TP Chatram police registered a case and further investigations are on. Sources said both sides had lodged complaints at Aminjikarai police station alleging violation of election code of conduct during electioneering following the ruckus.
