Addressing a public meeting in Theni, where he shared the dais with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Palaniswami said there was a lot of confusion in the Opposition camp, which he said had come together to form an opportunistic alliance.

Citing the example of Congress and Left parties coming together in Tamil Nadu, yet fighting each other in Kerala, the CM said the Opposition was divided.

“Despite this, Stalin announced Rahul Gandhi as the prime ministerial candidate. Thus, people should them a lesson in the ensuing polls.”

“Currently, the DMK president is criticising the AIADMK and BJP. But he should never forget that his party made the people of India bow down in shame after it was implicated in the 2G spectrum case.”

“Special talent and necessary skills are required to become the Prime Minister of India. Modi has got everything. People should ensure that he becomes the Prime Minister again,” the CM said.

Earlier, when the Chief Minister introduced the AIADMK LS candidates on stage, both Raveendranath Kumar (Theni), son of Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, and VVR Raj Sathyan (Madurai), son of Madurai North MLA V V Rajan Chellappa, fell at the feet of Modi, who experienced a moment of embarrassment, and refused to accept such a gesture.
