Sadiq Basha, who was a close associate with former Union Minister ARaja, had committed suicide few years ago. His wife S. RehaBanu met the press on Friday and said, "It has been 8 years since my husband died mysteriously. Myself and my family faced life threats and I believe it was politically motivated. The investigation conducted on my husband's death was one sided and I want a re-probe."
She said in her representation that Sadiq Basha owned a real estate company and was doing well, when former union minister A Raja became interested in it and became a partner in it. She alleged that her husband was later sidelined from his own company which further stressed him.
Her husband was investigated by the CBI after the 2G scam broke out in 2010 and since he was presumed to be a close associate of Raja.
Rehabanu claims, there was severe pressure on him from some quarters by way of threats, during the course the investigation as his evidence was vital.
He died on March 16, 2011 under suspicious circumstances, she alleged.
She said that she has given a written representation to the President, Ramnath Kovind and a copy to the Director of CBI, to re-investigate the death of her husband.
