“Nitin Gadkari may not have any idea about the problems faced by farmers. He is the Union Minister for Highways and will support the project, but we will explain to him about the negative consequences of the expressway and try to stop it,” he said.
Recently, Gadkari in an election campaign at Salem said that the eight-lane project will be implemented by the Centre at any cost.
The statement created a controversy as it was delivered in the presence of Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and PMK president S Ramadoss, who are strongly opposed to the project.
Anbumani said DMK president M K Stalin does not have any moral right to speak on the issue as his party supported the project in the Assembly.
