Yet, Kala (56), a doctor from Namakkal Co-operative Colony and wife of Namakkal Government Hospital Superintendent Selva Kumar, and Mohan Raj (39), a driver from Senthamangalam succumbed to injuries without responding to treatment.

Five others identified as Sikander Basha, 39 from Jai Nagar, Balakrishnan, 20 from Ganesapuram, Bose, 45 from Pottireddypatty, Marudupandian from Sivakasi and Mutharasan, 30 from Jegathampattinam were among those injured in the mishap. Police are investigating.
