SA Ponnusamy, state president, Tamil Nadu Milk Agents Welfare Association, in a statement, said, “To satisfy his bosses in New Delhi, Rajenthra Bhalaji is speaking in support of Tamil Nadu youngsters learning Hindi. He must retract his statements and should tender an apology to the people.”
Recently, at the election campaign in Thoothukudi, Rajenthra Bhalaji said that Tamil Nadu youth could not get into Central government jobs such as Railways due to not knowing Hindi and urged the youth to learn Hindi. His comments created various controversies across the state as Minister was condemned by Tamil activists.
Ponnusamy said that the statements of Rajendra Bhalaji is insulting the sentiments of 21 Tamil language martyrs. “By saying that Tamil Nadu youths are unemployed due to not studying Hindi, Rajenthra Bhalaji had insulted the martyrs who had lost their lives in anti-Hindi agitations,” said Ponnusamy.
Apart from that Rajendra Bhalaji, in a recent interview to a Tamil satellite news channel, compared former chief minister K Kamaraj to chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, which is also condemnable, said Ponnusamy.
