Out of the 4,35,003 votes of staff from the election duty, 12,915 votes have been rejected. The postal votes amounted to 4,35,003 of which 4,10,200 votes were cast.
The Election Commission informed the Madras High Court that the information furnished by the voters in the form didn't match with the information available with the EC, and that was the reason for the rejection of votes.
The Madras High Court recommended the EC to make sure such confusions don't recur.
