Addressing reporters, Anbumani said, “Tamil Nadu will get 200 TMC of water from Cauvery-Godavari interlinking project. Nearly 20 districts of the state are already benefitting from Cauvery water and if the interlinking project is implemented, 25 districts will benefit out of it.”

He also said that the project implementation will cost Rs 60,000 crore and it will serve three states of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. “Our alliance will continue to stress upon the Union government to implement the project,” said Anbumani.

He further said that AIADMK alliance will win in the state and also at the Centre. “We have been saying for the past two months that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will come to power for the second term and the exit polls have proven the same,” said Anbumani.

When asked whether PMK will still stress for complete ban on liquor even after joining the AIADMK alliance, Anbumani replied, “We are still firm in our ideology and joining an alliance does not mean that we have to compromise on our core ideology.”
