Official works in state resume after lifting of MCC
A day after the Election Commission announced the lifting of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) the public election officials in Tamil Nadu on Monday lifted the MCC.

With the results of 17th Lok Sabha Elections and Assembly by-elections being notified in the state gazette, the EC has completed the election process and the MCC in TN is lifted, a state government official said adding that the cases and violations booked by the EC will now be dealt with by the state police and the government machinery.
Officers deputed for EC will now return to the parent organisation and floating of tenders will commence in a day or two. Floating of tenders for water augmentation and drinking water projects are on the cards and all the civic projects put on hold during March will resume, informed secretariat officials said. Fort St George, that houses the power corridors of state Secretariat on Monday gained footfall reflecting the withdrawal of poll code. Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and the state ministers were back at their office.
