Husband bludgeoned to death by wife

30-year-old Chitra in a fit of rage killed her husband Ravi (34), on Tuesday morning, the arguments aggravated to a murder over extra marital affair accusation leveled against her. They were married with 2 sons of nine and seven, belonging to Tiruvarur.

Ravi was the secretary of AIADMK in Tiruvarur. Ravi made it a habit to get drunk at nights and fight with his wife. He cast aspersions of extra-marital affair in an inebriated state.

In the wee hours of Tuesday while Ravi was asleep with Chitra in simmering anger blowed at his head with the handle of the knife. In a semi-aware state he resisted but succumbed to her mortal pummels with knife.

Chitra surrendered at the Tiruvarur Taluk police station with the knife used for murder. This incident has perturbed the locality.
