IJK president asks 300 Perambalur students to apply for free education
IJK president Paarivendhar, who won from Perambalur in the DMK alliance with a huge margin against the AIADMK candidate NR Sivapathi, has made many promises to the voters during his campaign.

Keeping his words on the promises he had made during the election campaign, Perambalur MP TR Paarivendhar, here on Thursday announced that a total of 300 students belonging to economically weaker sections from his constituency would be given free higher education in his SRM group of education institutions from this academic year and appealed to the constituency people to submit applications on or before June 15 for the same.
The major among them are free higher education for 300 students in his institutions, job opportunities for 300 youth every year and solving the acute drinking water crisis. On Thursday, Paarivendhar, who met the reporters in Tiruchy, said, the first poll promise of free education would be fulfilled at once.
“There are six Assembly constituencies under Perambalur Lok Sabha seat, 50 students from each Assembly constituency with a total of 300 students will be offered free education in SRM institutions,” he said. He appealed to the people to send applications to Director (Admissions), SRM Nagar, Potheri, Kancheepuram District - 603203. Application forms could also be downloaded from www.ijkparty.org he added. The courses are listed out in the application forms. He further said that a committee comprising one representative from every coalition party would be formed to select eligible students to avail this benefit.
“The entire process would be transparent. There would not be any caste or religious differentiation in the selection process and no recommendation letter from anyone will be entertained,” he stressed.
On drinking water shortage problem, Paarivendhar said, “I would be arranging 15 tanker lorries to all the places that are reeling under water scarcity in a week or two.” He also said that the promise of jobs to 300 youth for this year would be implemented in next few months. Promising to develop Perambalur, the MP said he would initiate step to fulfill the long pending Ariyalur-Perambalur-Namakkal railway line. He also said that he would bring better marketing facilities and his institutions would purchase the agriculture produces. “Our staff would directly approach the farmers and buy at better price,” he assured.
