In a statement, Vaiko said, “The students who have cleared the NEET exams were asked to download an application form online and in the form the certificates of the parents including birth certificate and educational qualification were demanded. There is a strong suspicion that such steps are to filter students who have cleared NEET exam.”
He also said that the central government has also demanded students to bring their Class 12 hall ticket which is also another step to filter students. “Some students who have completed Class 12 couple of years back will not be having their hall tickets and in such circumstance, demanding hall ticket from the old students is a way to filter them from the selection process,” said Vaiko.
He further demanded the state government to interfere in the issue and to end their mental agony. “State should ask the centre to withdraw the recent notification of attaching the unnecessary certificates and hall tickets along with the application form,” said Vaiko.
NEET has already eliminated rural students and was responsible for deaths of many students in the state including Anitha, Prathiba, Subashri, Rithushri, Saishya, Monisha and so on and now the BJP government is trying to further filter the students who have already cleared NEET exam, said Vaiko.
