In a statement, Stalin said, “He (Velumani) should resign or otherwise, he should be dismissed by the Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami.”

Recalling the recent observation of the Madras High Court’s on the steps taken by the government to solve the drinking water crisis in the State, the DMK leader alleged that both Velumani and Palaniswami did not bother about the people’s problem and instead they conduct only party meetings.

Stalin also alleged that people wait for at least for 15 days for the supply of drinking water by metro lorry. Adding to the woes, he said, “The drinking water which is supplied through the metro pipeline is mixed with sewage water. Even hotels are closed due to the drinking water issue.”

Stating that even IT companies have instructed their employees to work at home due to insufficiency of drinking water, Stalin said that he wanted to know about the status of the current water desalination projects.
