Vikravandi DMK MLA Radhamani, ex-MP Sivasubramanian pass away
Two DMK senior party leaders, including sitting Vikravandi DMK MLA K Radhamani, died on Friday. Former DMK Rajya Sabha member S Sivasubramanian, who was suffering from health issues, also died.

Radhamani was 68 and a bachelor. He was elected to the state Assembly from Vikravandi constituency on the DMK ticket. He was suffering from cancer for some time and was admitted to the Jipmer hospital, ten days ago, where he died on Thursday.
His body is being taken to his native Vikravandi. Meanwhile, DMK president MK Stalin paid homage to Radhamani at Jipmer hospital.
Besides local DMK leaders, party Lok Sabha member A Raja, former minister Ponmudi were among others who paid homage to Radhamani.
Stalin later left for Tiruchy to pay homage to former Ariyalur DMK MP Sivasubramanian who had died today.
Veteran DMK leader Sivasubramanian, who was very close to the late chief minister M Karunanidhi was residing presently at Andimadam in Ariyalur district. He served as the Perambalur district DMK secretary and combined Tiruchy district deputy secretary. He served as the MLA in 1989-1991 and became Rajya Sabha MP in 1998-2004.
A key personality in the creation of Ariyalur district by bifurcation from Perambalur was under treatment for his age related ailments at a private hospital in Ariyalur and he passed away on Friday morning.
Expressing shock over the death of his both party colleagues, Stalin extended his sympathies to the families of the deceased. Radhamani, was said to be close with the top ranked DMK leaders.
Recalling Sivasubramanian’s contribution to the party, Stalin said he was a good speaker in the Assembly for the development his constituency. “He was the front runner in all DMK’s protests,” he added. Stalin, VCK president Thol Thirumavalavan and others paid respect.
Sivasubramanian is survived by wife Siva Rajeswari and two sons, Sivasankar, former MLA and present Ariyalur district DMK secretary and Sivakumar, a business man.
With Radhamani’s death, the DMK’s strength in the 234-member Assembly comes down to 100. Apart from Vikravandi, one more Assembly seat, Nanguneri, will remain vacant in the state.
