Talking to reporters here, Anbazhagan said the Puducherry government came to a standstill because of the ‘personal’ issues and ego between the L-G and the CM. “Instead of resolving issues through discussions, it was taken to the SC and now the verdict is awaited,” he said.
He said the Centre was not intervening in the issue and remained a mere spectator for quite some time. “If the present situation continues, the Centre should intervene and suspend the government here,” he added.
Anbazhagan said there are 3.38 lakh ration cards and the government never took a decision to provide free rice to all ration card holders. “If the decision was taken funds for the same should have been allotted. Funds for the same was not allocated even in the vote on account passed earlier. However, hiding the fact, the SC was informed that Bedi is preventing the provision of free rice to yellow colour cards,” he said.
Pointing out the announcement that the budget session of the territorial assembly would commence in the first week of July, Anbazhagan wondered whether it was possible since the SC had banned the government to take any financial decisions till July 10.
