Drumming up the initiative to reopen the Sterlite copper smelter plant, the Vedanta group has alleged the involvement of a Chinese company.
Vedanta on Wednesday cited the Madurai bench of Madras High Court the findings of NEERI (National Environmental Engineering Research Institute) on 2011 that the smelter plant doesn't harm the environment.
On Thursday, the Vedanta Group alleged a Chinese involvement in instigating mass protests against the Tuticorin plant to serve some vested interest. Vedanta questioned how could 20,000 people could unanimously be organised at the same time.
