Prisoner from Karur ends life in Tiruchy

According to sources, K Sivanandam from Thennilai in Karur district had a dispute with his mother Palaniammal (80) over property sharing. On October 31, 2018, Sivanandam allegedly murdered his mother and was soon arrested. Subsequently, he was produced in court and later lodged in prison.

Meanwhile, around 2.30 am on Friday, Sivanandam reportedly used a bedsheet and hanged himself in prison. The staff there who noticed it attempted to rescue him and rushed him to the government hospital, where he was declared brought dead. The Thennilai police have registered a case.
