TNEA: Allocation for 1st round to be released on July 13
The final allotment of engineering seats for the students who participated in the first round of counselling will be announced on July 13. The second round will begin on Monday, officials said.

Of the total 9,872 candidates, more than 70 per cent of students have so far participated for the first round of counselling, which would end on Sunday.
From Monday, the second round counselling would be held for the students from rank 9,873 to 30,926, with marks ranging from 177.75 to 150.
According to the official, counselling would be held in four rounds, and would conclude on July 28. He said each round of counselling would be held for five days where the candidates can choose courses and colleges.
The official said during the third round, applicants from rank 30,927 to 64,093, marks ranging from 149.75 to 115, would attend the counselling. In the final round, candidates from rank 64,094 to 1,01,692, with marks ranging from 114.75 to 77.5, would attend the counselling.
Initial payment made would be adjusted in the college tuition fee during the admission and 80 per cent of the initial payment would be refunded to the candidates who do not join the college.
Students would be given four days to join the college of their choice. “Otherwise, apart from refunding the fees, the seat offer will go to the next deserving candidate,” the official added.
The Tamil Nadu Department of Technical Education (DoTE), which is conducting the counselling process this academic year after Anna University refused to do it, has made elaborate arrangements at Government Polytechnic College Auditorium at Taramani inthe city.
