‘Chinnavar’ Udhayanidhi plans to tour TN like Stalin
Newly appointed DMK youth wing secretary Udhayanidhi Stalin has been given a taste of the height of sycophancy his party functionaries are capable of.

In the maiden meeting Udhayanidhi had chaired on Saturday after taking over as the DMK youth wing secretary on July 4, sycophancy reached an intoxicating level, so much so that he had to eventually put a leash on his obsequious deputy secretaries and district organisers to steer the course of the meeting in to a meaningful one.
But it was not before a few overtly loyal supporters like his close confidant and Tiruverumbur MLA Mahesh Poyyamozhi, one of the youth wing deputy secretaries, had proposed a new term to address the Stalin junior. Mahesh who waxed eloquent about his ‘friend’s’ contribution to the youth wing (making three district organisers MP even before helming the youth wing) had suggested that they could address the new boss as ‘chinnavar,’ just as they address party president MK Stalin as ‘periyavar’ in the party circles.
Only the MLA did not realise that the term was more obsequious than affectionate by all standard of politics.
The other deputy secretaries, including MLAs RD Sekar and ‘Thayagam’ Kavi proved that they were second to none by singing paeans to a shy Udhayanidhi, who apparently stood up and advised the district organisers to stick to the subject.
Assures to look intocomplaints
Unsurprisingly, complaints of various nature poured in with many of his district office bearers expressing their anguish over the treatment meted out by district and even area secretaries of the parentparty when they approached them for organising meeting.
A soft-spoken Stalin junior carefully skirted the district secretaries’ issue and assured his deputies that his job was to transform all chinnavars (small men) in the youth wing into periyavars (big shots), which evoked a thunderous reception in an otherwise eerily silent Anbagam.
After announcing that he would work on their suggestions instead of them acting as per his instructions, he would undertake a statewide tour on the lines of ‘namakku naamey’ of his father and get due recognition to deserving functionaries in the youth wing.
DMK insiders wary of the maiden political speech admitted that the newly anointed ‘prince’ has planned a statewide tour only to reach out to disgruntled district secretaries and he was rightly silent on animosity shown by the latter towards his young lieutenants.
